Hong Kong Art Exchange Association

The Hong Kong Arts Exchange Association was established in 2018. It is a non-profit organization formed by a group of artists and educators coming from the field of arts and performance.

Members of the Association have years of professional background experiences from diversified art fields such as visual arts, music, dance, performing arts, youth and children art education, etc. The key members of the Association have been and continue to be involved in the promotion of different arts and exchange development in Hong Kong. They gathered to form the Association with an aim to promote art and cultural exchange for Hong Kong people and students to a broader level, so that more people can take part and share their art creation and performances here.

The Association also hopes to provide a platform for youngsters and children to publish their art works and raise their interests in art through organizing various competitions and exhibitions or exchange programmes with different organizations. Thus, to promote the development of art, culture and creative industries in Hong Kong.

6th Asia Youth & Children Arts Festival Art Competition 2025


The "6th Asia Youth & Children Arts Festival" organized by the Hong Kong Arts Exchange Association continues to respond to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) this year, advocating inclusive and equitable quality education (SDGs4) and advocating the construction of sustainable cities and communities (SDGs11), while calling for the protection of the natural environment.

This year's theme "The Most Beautiful Scenery, People or Things", which advocates sustainable cities and communities, encouraging youngsters and children around the world to care about the places where they are and use their brushes to capture the most beautiful scenery in their hearts - it can be magnificent natural landscapes, pictures with human warmth, records of the transformation of the current environment, or imaginations of the vision of future communities, etc. We look forward to each participant will learn to appreciate their surroundings more deeply during the painting process, discovering the beauty around them and creating with a unique perspective. This will allow their creativity to flourish, inspiring everyone to strive for the preservation of beautiful landscapes.

The Arts Festival includes:

1. Art Competition
• The event advocates "children's drawings by children", encouraging parents and tutors to help children understand the purpose of drawing and what they want to express through guidance, but to avoid intervention from adults during painting;
• Support children from low-income families and those with special education needs (SEN) to actively participate in art creation;
• Encourage participants to express their appreciation and protection of the beautiful scenery we have through artistic creation;
• Encourage multi-cultural exchanges in Asia regions and promote creativity and innovation ideas.

2. Awards Presentation Ceremony
• Awards presentation ceremonies in the past has received tremendous support from various sectors of the society including Hong Kong Arts Development Council (“HKADC”), Legislative Councilors, District Councilors, different art and cultural organizations, as well as business sectors, etc.
• The awards presentation ceremony has been officially held each year. The ceremony is scheduled to be held in 17 January 2026, details will be announced later.

3. Outstanding Artworks Exhibition
• An exhibition will be held in Hong Kong, showcasing the original paintings of the outstanding artworks. The top three and gold award artworks of each age group will be exhibited for free;
• Silver, bronze and merit awards are eligible to be exhibited at HK$200;
• This year, the exhibition will continue to set a charity exhibition area, allowing all participants to exhibit their entries by donating HK$500 / HK$300.

4. Asia Arts and Cultural Exchange Programme
• All Asian students are welcome to join the 4-day 3-night Hong Kong Arts and Culture Exchange Tour from January 16 to 19, 2026, and local students are welcome to join the Arts and Culture Exchange Day Camp on January 18.
• All Asian students are welcome to join the 5-day 4-night Arts and Culture Exchange Programme in August 1 to 5, 2026 (Date to be confirmed). Details will be announced later.

Competition Process






Competition Rules

✧ Painting Size: A3 (297x420mm) or A2 (420x594mm) size;
✧ Drawing on white paper;
✧ Flat painting;
✧ No limitation on the use of drawing and painting media;
✧ Any form of collage (including glitter) or computer drawings are not allowed;
✧ Must be an original artwork and not a duplicate from any other artwork;
✧ To be drawn and completed by the participant;
✧ Painting shall not be framed and should not be folded or curled while sending in;
✧ Marks will be deducted if the submitted artwork does not comply with artwork format and rules.

Individual Prizes (By Age Group)
✧ Trophy and Certificate will be presented to the Top Three winners for each age group: Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up.
✧ The Top Three winners of each age group will received a personalized artwork printed vacuum flask.
✧ Medal and Certificate will be presented to winners of Gold Award (5%), Silver Award (15%) and Bronze Award (25%).
✧ Winners of Merit Award (30%) will receive a Certificate of Merit.
✧ All participants will receive an Appreciation Certificate.

*No extra fees will be charged for certificates, medals and trophies.

Award for Outstanding Group
Calculate the first 20 highest scoring students of each Team/Institution based on the scoring system.
50 points or above - Gold Award
40 points or above - Silver Award
20 points or above - Bronze Award

Scoring System:
Champion: 10 points
1st Runner-up: 8 points
2nd Runner-up: 6 points
Gold Award: 3 points
Silver Award: 2 points
Bronze Award: 1 point

1)Please pay the entry fee through FPS / Bank Transfer / Alipay / WeChat Pay first and keep the payment record. If paying by cheque, please prepare an image of the front of the cheque;
2)Please prepare high-resolution photo image of the artwork to be submitted to the competition;
3)Please use the following link "Individual Registration Link" to fill in your personal information and artwork details and upload i) payment record image ii) image of the artwork;
4)After completing the registration, you must download the "Individual Entry Consent and Artwork Label", fill it out and have it signed by the student/parent. Copy, cut and stick it on the back of the original painting. Mail or deliver the original artwork along with payment record or cheque to the designated collection point of competition works before 31 October 2025
5)The postmark must be dated 31 October 2025. Applications that are late will not be processed and paid registration fees will not be refunded.

Return of artwork will be arranged after all event of this festival. The artworks will can be delivered to the participants or participating Schools/Art Centres/Institutions by SF Express with freight collect. There will be no self-pickup.
To save administrative work, individual participants must decide whether to arrange to return the artworks when registering. The association will charge HK$60 for administrative and local shipping fees. Overseas return fees are subject to separate quotations by region. Local/overseas groups return fees are subject to separate quotations based on the quantity of artworks.

1)Personal information provided by participants will be used for Asia Youth & Children Arts Festival.
2)Only one (1) entry is allowed for each person in the Art Competition. For additional entries, only the first submitted artwork will be assessed.
3)Participant information entered in registration will be used for Certificates/Medals/Trophies (if any), please make sure the submitted name is correct. A HK$80 administration fee will be charged for any further amendment.
4)If participant takes part in this competition through School/Art Centre/Institution, all communication will be made through respective School/Art Centre/Institution instead of individual participant.
5)HKAEA will not be responsible for any loss of documents or artworks due to mail delivery error or problem.
6)By submitting the artwork under the applicable rules and regulations, applicants have granted an unconditional license and use of the copyright of submitted artworks to HKAEA and this event. Submitted artworks will be used for the promotion, publication, printing, etc. HKAEA will not serve notice or provide compensation to the participants on the use of artworks.
7)HKAEA reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, modify or suspend the terms and conditions and/or arrangements of the competition without further notice.
8)In case of dispute, the decision of HKAEA shall be final.
